Why Become a Student Ambassador

Student ambassador is a highly respected title, and adding this is a great résumé builder. Other reasons you should become a student ambassador:

  • Get a scholarship of up to $1,700 per semester.

  • Gain real-world job skills, such as communication and interpersonal skills, and grow personally and professionally.

  • Meet other students.

  • Represent the college at recruitment events; attend exclusive college activities and events.

  • Participate in community service activities.

  • Network with community members and potential employers.

  • Make a positive impact on prospective and current students.

Eligibility

To receive consideration to become a student ambassador, you must have/be:

  • at least a 3.0 GPA

  • successfully completed at least 18 for-college-credits at Central Piedmont by the end of the spring semester that you apply in

  • enrolled in at least nine credit hours at Central Piedmont within an active for-college-credit program during the fall and spring semesters

  • at least one academic year remaining at Central Piedmont

  • an enthusiastic and positive attitude

  • a sincere desire to represent Central Piedmont and to learn strong communication and leadership skills

  • able to work well with others and to be a successful team player

  • knowledge of Central Piedmont

Commitment/Requirements

The following are what will be required and expected of you if you are approved as a student ambassador.

  • Training

    attend a two-day student ambassador training session

  • Time Commitment

    -participate in at least 15 hours of student ambassador activities in the summer (summer hours are an extension of training)

    -participate in at least 60 hours of student ambassador activities per semester in fall and spring (two hours per week of office hours, equaling 32 each semester, and 28 hours of events)

    -attend required student ambassador meetings each month

  • Professionalism

    -adhere to dress code policies during office hours, tours, and events

    -demonstrate a high standard of professionalism at all times

    -be flexible when tasks change unexpectedly

  • Academics

    -stay enrolled in at least nine credit hours at Central Piedmont within an active for-college-credit program during the fall and spring semesters

    -maintain at least a 3.0 or higher GPA

  • Ethical Standards

    As a student ambassador, you will represent the elite diversity of Central Piedmont's student body. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of academic honesty and responsible behavior required by Central Piedmont. If your academic or behavior status changes while serving as a student ambassador, you will be expected to immediately discuss this issue with the program advisors. Following this consultation, appropriate actions will be taken according to standards of conduct required by the program and the college. This action could include termination of your participation in the student ambassador program.

How to Become a Student Ambassador

  • Prospective students that meet the program eligibility requirements will receive an email invitation to a Spring Semester Interest Session. Applications will open online at the end of February and will close in March of each year.

  • Complete formal application using your Central Piedmont student email address. Ensure that you have read all application instructions and uploaded the two recommendation letters, unofficial transcript, and professional resume within the application form. Applications that do not include all documents will not be considered.

  • If your application is approved, you will then be scheduled for an interview with the selection committee. This committee is composed of Central Piedmont faculty, administrators, and current student leaders.

  • Student Ambassadors is a year long program, please check back in January 2025 for updates on the Ambassadors recruitment timeline for the 2025-2026 academic school year.
