Safety and Security
The Safety and Security Division provides a variety of services to enhance and promote safety and security for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our services and programs support the mission, vision, and values of Central Piedmont, and we are committed to fostering an environment that promotes readiness, responsiveness, resilience, preparation, and awareness through a pro-active, customer service-oriented, collaborative, and transparent approach.
Each department within the Safety and Security Division is staffed with dedicated and invested professionals and subject matter experts to perform services, activities, and crisis response operations related to Business Continuity, Emergency Management, College Security, and Environmental Health and Safety.
Our services include:
- crisis and emergency response
- providing security and police services at all campuses and centers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- coordinating security, police, medical, and fire response through our 24-hour Security Dispatch Center
- collaborating with local, state, and federal agencies for emergency management and security-related incidents and events
- providing security, health and welfare, and Distinguished Visitor/VIP escorts
- investigating incidents, complaints, and crimes
- conducting drills
- performing safety inspections
- developing and implementing business continuity plans
- developing and implementing emergency management programs and exercises
