Electrical Lineworker

In these 12-week classes, you will receive training to become an entry-level electrical lineworker for a private or public utility company. You will learn the basic elements of electricity, overhead pole and electrical line construction, rigging, pole climbing and safety techniques. By the end of the course, you will have the necessary skills for employment in various electrical utility industries.

Requirements

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • You must have a valid NC Drivers License and be able to pass a drug screening and DOT physical.
  • You must be 18 or older by the first day of class.
  • You must weigh less than 275 pounds and able to lift 75 pounds.
  • You must be able to work while elevated high off the ground.
  • You must be able to work in all types of weather.

Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation (HVAC)

In these two 16-week classes, you will learn entry level skills to repair air conditioning units. You will learn how to identify the components of air conditioning units, measure the amount of refrigerant in the system, and add or remove refrigerant. After passing the EPA 608 exam, you will be able to purchase refrigerant to service HVAC units.
