Central Piedmont determined the amount of your Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant based on information you provided in your application and documentation. If you were awarded a Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant, this grant does not impact your financial aid award package.

Central Piedmont uses BankMobile Disbursements, an online banking product, to process financial aid refunds. You must have a BankMobile Account to get your Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant.

Verify that your contact information and payment options are accurate with BankMobile Disbursements and learn more about BankMobile Disbursements refund options. If you do not have a BankMobile account and need help creating one, contact BankMobile Disbursements at 1.866.782.0821 or the Central Piedmont Cashiering office at 704-330-4472.

When you receive your student relief grant depends on the payment option you select with BankMobile. If you requested tuition assistance and agreed to allow the college to apply funds to your account balance, funds will be applied as soon as possible. 

If you are awarded funds, Central Piedmont will attempt to contact you at least three times by either your official school email account or to the phone number you have on record with the college. If you do not respond, your unclaimed funds will be redistributed to other students. You will have at least 60 days after the date of award to claim your funds before they may be redistributed.

How you use your Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant is your choice. You should use this money for costs of attendance or emergency costs as a result of the pandemic, such as food, housing course materials, technology, healthcare, and child care. Central Piedmont will not require you to submit receipts or other documentation of how you spend your funds. Central Piedmont will not require you to apply tuition assistance directly to your account balance, but you are strongly recommended to.

The college encourages you to pay off any balances with the college to prevent issues with registration or collections. Visit the Central Piedmont tuition, fees, and payment page to learn more about balances and available payment options.

The Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant is not part of your gross income for tax purposes. Visit the IRS CARES Act website or contact the IRS for more guidance.

Using guidance provided by the Department of Education, Central Piedmont set forth the following requirements for a Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant. Applicants were required to meet the following criteria:

• be a current student at Central Piedmont. Central Piedmont verified recipients were actively attending classes at the time of application.
• had eligible cost of attendance or emergency expenses caused by the pandemic (such as food, housing, course materials, transportation, technology, health care, and child care).
• College and Career Readiness students had to be currently enrolled and have attended class (in-person, synchronous virtual or asynchronous learning) for at least 12 hours.
• Continuing education students had to be enrolled in at least 12 hours of occupation-related courses. Applicants taking personal enrichment or short-duration continuing education courses (example: notary) were not eligible. Students with a fee waiver through an employer or a corporate sponsorship were also ineligible.

Applicants could still be eligible to receive a Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant if they:

• owed a balance to Central Piedmont. The college did not deduct any fees from the Central Piedmont Student Relief Grant, but any outstanding balances did remain on recipients' accounts.
• received support from another Central Piedmont Emergency Grant.
