QEP Targets

Learn about Central Piedmont's goals for enhancing advising attendance, helping students feel satisfied with their career choice, and placing students in the right program of study.

Orientation and Advising

Most new students have been attending orientation, but until now, orientation didn’t include a career exploration activity. We also know that most students don’t get advised each term, or complete ACA-122 College Transfer Success in their first year, even though Advising and ACA-122 are so helpful with career decision making.

Career Choice

Most new students say they are confident with their career choice, but we want them to be confident after going through a series of career exploration activities and intentional career conversations.

Program Placement

Students choose one of 16 academic and career pathways when they apply, and their advisor is assigned to them on that basis. Most new students do get placed into a degree program fairly quickly, but we want to make sure that all students make a career choice and get placed in a program by the end of their first year, even if they later change their mind.
