The college offers flexible, hands-on training, instruction, and exam prep for professional licensure through the Crowder Construction Institute. Programs include air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration technology, carpentry, contractor exam prep, licensing and code qualification, masonry, residential and commercial plumbing technology, and AWS welding certification and testing.

AWS Welding Certification and Testing

  • Testing Dates, How to Schedule, Who to Contact

    Central Piedmont is an American Welding Society (AWS) accredited testing facility that provides testing for both individuals and companies. The certified welder program is a performance-based program with no prerequisite courses or certifications required. Final certification will provide "transferrable" credentials. The certified welder program tests procedures used in the structural steel, petroleum pipelines, sheet metal, and chemical refinery welding industries.

    Certification Testing Includes: 

    • WLX-7121 AWS Welding Certification – Single Position Plate
    • WLX-7122 AWS Welding Certification – Multiple Position Plate
    • WLX-7123 AWS Welding Certification – Single Position Pipe Test

    Summer 2024 Test Dates:

    • June 21, 2024, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
    • July 19, 2024, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
