Emergency Management
The Emergency Management team at Central Piedmont works collaboratively to plan and prepare the college for emergencies, educate about preparedness, and coordinate response and recovery. Emergency Management adheres to an all-hazards approach to incident management based on the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Incident Management System (NIMS).
Emergency Management is responsible for:
- developing and maintaining the college’s emergency plans, which include:
- emergency operations plan as well as its functional and risk-specific annexes
- crisis management plan
- pandemic plan
- severe weather plan
- assisting with the college’s business continuity program
- management of the Emergency Operations Center and overall coordination of Central Piedmont’s emergency operational response
- emergency training, exercises, and after-action reports
- strategic oversight and day-to-day management of the Critical Alert system (Rave Mobile Safety)
