Mobile Device Synchronization for Employees

Before proceeding further, you must first submit the Mobile Device Synchronization Form. To access this form, sign into Web Employee, select Employees, and then select Mobile Device Sync Form. Once you are provided access, please follow the directions below.

Select the appropriate Operating System (OS) that you are attempting to synchronize your employee e-mail account with:

Android

Note: The steps provided to complete this process may vary slightly depending on the Android device you are using.

  1. From the home screen on your device, tap Settings or press the Menu button and select Settings.

  2. Locate and tap Accounts & sync.

  3. Tap Add Account.

    Click Add Account

  4. Choose to add a Microsoft Exchange Active Sync account.

  5. Enter your employee e-mail address/password and tap Next.
    1. Note: If provided the option to setup the account manually please do so and skip to step 7

  6. Android may not be able to automatically obtain the server information which will require you to enter it yourself. Tap the dimmed background (as shown below) to modify the fields manually.
    1. Other Android devices may have an option to setup the account manually at this point. If so, select that option.



  7. Enter the following information:
    1. Employee username
    2. Domain: cpcc.edu (this field may be part of the username field as seen in the image below)
    3. Password
    4. Server: mobile13.cpcc.edu
  8. Ensure that the check box for SSL is checked and tap Next. A notification may appear regarding Remote Security Administration. Tap OK if you are willing to proceed.

  9. Select which items to synchronize and also the frequency your Inbox will be checked for new items. Once complete, tap Next.

  10. You may receive a notification regarding the activation of device administrator. Please read the content and tap Activate if you would like to proceed.

  11. The next screen will prompt you to enter a name for the mailbox. Enter a name or tap Next to complete the process.

iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch)

An iPhone 5S running iOS 9.3 was used to create the steps below. The steps used to complete this process on an iPad or iPod Touch are very similar.

  1. From the home screen on your iOS device, tap Settings

    Click settings

  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

    Select mail, contacts, calendars

  3. Select Add Account and choose to add a Microsoft Exchange account

  4. Enter the following information:
    1. Employee e-mail address
    2. Password
  5. Tap Next at the top right corner of the screen

    Your iOS device will attempt to locate the Exchange Server. If necessary, you will be prompted to enter the following information:
    1. Server address: mobile13.cpcc.edu
    2. Domain: cpcc.edu
    3. Employee username

  6. Once your information has been verified, select which content you would like to synchronize with your device as shown below:
  7. Tap Save at the top right corner when ready



Note: If you receive a message stating "Unable to verify account information" please ensure you have a data/wireless connection and are entering your credentials correctly.

If you need to modify your Exchange settings, perform the following steps:

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings

    Click on settings

  2. Select Mail, Contact, Calendars

    select contacts and calendars

  3. Select your CPCC Exchange account and tap Account

Windows Phone 7

  1. Tap the arrow at the top right corner of the screen to access the Program List
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select E-Mail & Accounts
  4. Select Add an account
  5. Select Outlook
  6. Enter your employee e-mail address and password
  7. Select Sign In
  8. You will be prompted to enter the following additional information:
    1. Employee username
    2. Domain: cpcc.edu
  9. If prompted to include the Server Address, enter the following: mobile13.cpcc.edu
    1. Ensure that the Server requires encrypted (SSL) connection option is enabled (if shown)
    2. Select Sign In
